This trio features scads of swiftly syncopated motifs interspersed with slower thematic episodes that skew rhapsodic as they rambunctiously change key at the drop of a compositional hat. Why, the tune modulates through fourteen different keys in the first sixteen measures alone! Ultimately, it is neither clear nor important who wins the race.
