alto flute + playback (2009)

Written for flutist Laurel Ann Maurer. The playback is not so much a soundscape as it is an electronic instrumental ensemble that doesn’t collect union dues. Premiered at The Brick Elephant in northern New York (state, not city). The National Flute Association’s Low Flute Committee selected L.M.1 as a “Level H Recommended Piece” of the 2011 Selected Alto Flute Repertoire, and that’s fine with me.
